Gandhara University established in the Private Sector, charted by the Govt of NWFP, vide Law Department Notification No. Legis (11) 97 dated 23rd November 2002 and enlisted with the Higher Education Commission, Govt of Pakistan. The Higher Education Commission, Islamabad has upgraded the Category of Gandhara University from Category “X”(previous “B”) to Category “W”(previous Category “A”) in accordance to Cabinet Criteria requirements in shape of academic, financial and physical infrastructure, on the recommendations of the inspection Committee constituted by Higher Education Commission vide letter No.16-45/HEC/A&A/2008/321 dated 17-04-2008.
