Events and Activities

Life at the university is full of exciting and educational events and they are scheduled in the college calendar. Various courses and lectures delivered by the visiting staff from overseas or nationally are marked as the college regular event. The college looks after its young students and the teaching faculty by encouraging them to update their knowledge and clinical skills, symposiums and workshops are organized as to give everyone the chance of continues professional development. Primary Trauma Care (PTC) is one of the course that is given to the MBBS and BDS students as a part of their medical training. This course is now being added to the Nursing and Paramedical students in near future.

Free Dental Camp at Sardar Begum Dental College:

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ghulam Dastagir Akhtar inaugurated two-day free dental camp at Sardar Begum Dental College at Gandhara University. The Chief Secretary highly appreciated the positive endevours of the management of Gandhara University for successful holding of the camp.

He urged the other welfare organizations to come forward by holding such free medical camps to provide treatment to poor patients to mitigate their suffering. He also inspected the various sections of the college and urged the students to give special focus on education.

The Chief Secretary was told that an addition to free treatment to needy patients, the senior professors and doctors of the college also visited from time to time by arranging free medical camps in different parts of the province.
Principal of the college, Dr. Shaheed Iqbal on the occasion appraised the Chief Secretary about achievements of the premier medical institution in private sector.

Literary Activities-2012

From 5-7 March, 2012 included Qira’at, Naat competition , English, Urdu and Pushto debates, Quiz and Movie competitions. On 10th March, Medal distribution and Magazine Launching ceremonies were held. Chief Justice Peshawar High Court, Mr Justice Dost Muhammad Khan was the Chief Guest.

Mazahia Mushaira 2012

Eminent poet Mr Anwar Masood , Mr Sarfarz Shahid and Dr Inam ul Haq javed participated in Mushaira.

Japanese Calendar Exhibition 2012

Japanese Calendar Exhibition was held from 18-21 Jan. 2012 by Pak Japan Cultural Association and Embassy Of Japan at Gandhara University. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister for Higher education KPK, Mr Qazi Muhammad Asad.

Mehfil e Milad 2012

A Mehfil e Milad was held on 11th Feb 2012 by Character Building Society for the Girl students at Kabir Auditorium.

Sports Week 2012

From 20-25 Feb. 2012 at Gandhara University. ¡Included Cricket, Foot Ball, Badminton, Table Tennis and Net Ball matches.

Convocation-2011

Convocation of Gandhara University for graduates of Kabir Medical College and Sardar Begum Dental College was held on 5 March, 2011. MBBS and BDS Graduates from Year 2006-2010 were awarded degrees and medals.
