Admission criterion
Admission to the Medical and Dental College is based on the merit.The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council requirement for admission to the Medical/Dental College must be satisfied by all the applicants. These include pre-medical qualifications with certified documentary evidence.Candidates are required to demonstrate adequate proficiency in English.

This can be paid in cash if admission application packet is collected in person. If sought by post, the fee Rs. 950/- be sent in the form of money order or bank draft payable to Gandhara Institute of Medical Sciences.
The completed application form with required supporting documents and a non refundable application processing fee of Rs. 500/- (US$ 40 for the foreign applicants) should reach the admission office by due date.
Entry Test
The applicants are required to appear in the entry test. The subject matter for the test is based upon the current syllabi prescribed by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan for F.Sc. pre-medical students.
Applicants would be issued admit card enabling them to appear in the entry test. Where it is not received in time, applicants are advised to have the card in person from the admission office at the main campus. Applicants appearing in the entry test will be required to pay Rs. 400/- entry test fee.
Admission Selection Committee
This committee comprises the chairman of the institute and heads of all the departments are the members of the committee. Committee has the discretion to refuse admission to any candidate who seems unsuitable. The decision of the admission selection committee shall be final and cannot be contested.
Eligibility
Applicants must have passed HSSC (Pre-Medical Group) of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan with no less than 60% marks (first Division).
Foreign University or College/School which in scope and standard is found equivalent to the intermediate(Pre-Medical) examination of Pakistan like British A-level or American/Canadian High School examination(12th Grade).
The Candidate who has passed British A-Level or American/Canadian High School Examination (12th Grade) shall obtain the equivalent certificate from the Inter-Board Committee of Chairman Islamabad.
The equivalence certificate of such a candidate will not be accepted if he/she has not studied the subjects of Physics, Biology and Chemistry in eleventh or twelfth Grades.
Admission will be strictly on merit. The merit is based on the entry test, Fsc (Pre-medical) examination result, Matriculation result and interview by the Admission Selection Committee.
The minimum age for admission is 17 years and maximum 25 years according to the PMDC rules. 10 seats for M.B.B.S and 5 seats for BDS reserved for foreign students and overseas Pakistanis.
Adjustment/Deducation of Marks
Merit list will be prepared in accordance with the following formula and weight age

Candidates who have passed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination in First Division from any Board in Pakistan will be given 10 marks on the production of SSC Certificate.
Ten (10) marks will be added to the F.Sc. marks on the recommendation of admission committee for Hafiz-e-Quran to the candidates.
Ten (10) marks shall be deducted from every extra attempt availed in the F.Sc (pre medical) examinations beyond the period of two years after passing the SSC in annual examination. The attempt certificate issued by the respective BISE shall be accepted as final proof of attempts.
According to the adjusted marks, whenever two candidates are bracketed.
- The one senior in age will be given preference over the other. Age record in SSC / Matriculation Certificate will be accepted as final.
- In case of candidates of the same age, the one with higher marks in SSC Examination will be given preference.
- If any of the submitted certificates are found false or forged, at any time even after admission legal action will be taken against the student and his/her admission will be cancelled.
It is absolutely essential to submit originals of all the above documents at the time of Interview. Original documents of the selected candidates will be returned after the completion of the course of studies.
If any of the mentioned documents are not attached with the original application form, the application shall be rejected.
