Facilities at Gandhara University

Auditorium
Auditorium occupies the Centrex place of the campus, it is air-conditioned with advance audio visual facilities. It has a seating capacity of 280 and is venue for conferences, seminars, debates, concerts and other such receptions.

Sports Facilities
The facility currently available at the campus include badminton and table tennis. Outdoor games such as football, hockey, basket ball, cricket are being regularly organized by the University sports society at its sports ground.

Health Care
Kabir Medical College has its own 250 bed well equipped hospital (Naseer Teaching Hospital), which provides round the clock health care facilities to the poor and needy, students, employees and their dependent family members.

Cafeteria
Cafeteria is housed in the separate block with a seating capacity of 40 to 60 students with separate rooms for girl students. It offers meals and snacks at modest price. It caters for both the faculty and students.

Administration block
The Administration block includes office of the principal, conference room, human resource department, medical education cell and allied offices.

Transport
The University has 25 vehicles in its pool. It provides pick and drop services to the students and staff. Picnic tours and community visits are also catered for by the request of students. Day and night emergencies are attended by the Ambulance service and duty vehicles.

Students Hostels
There are five Hostels for boys and Four Hostels for girls. Every student is allotted a study table, a bed and a cupboard. Each Hostel has a common room that can seat 20-30 students. It has a television. The dining room can seat approximately 20-30 students. The menu and quality of the food are regulated by the students mess committee. The mess is run on no-profit no-loss basis.

Library
Central library of the University is housed in the main campus. It is air-conditioned with good interior design and furniture. It has up-to date textbooks, reference works, and journals to meet the needs of the students and faculty.

It has an audio visual library which keeps a large collection of medical movies on basic sciences as well as clinical sciences, Medical Digest, Medical Graphics, images etc.

Computer Lab:
There are 25 latest computers with online internet connectivity where students and the faculty can benefit from access to internationally reputed medical journals or books. Gandhara University encourages the faculty for research paper writing and the computers are accessible out of hours.

IT Department:
The supervision of experienced IT Professionals caters for hardware and software troubleshot for the faculty and the students. The main is fully WiFi enabled broadband Internet for the faculty and students. The team is also responsible for designing and updating the University web site.

Students Support Office
Student support office offers a variety of services and facilities to the students overseen by the principal of the institute. This office functions as a friend and guides the students, administering to their needs from the time they makes first inquiry regarding admission till the time they graduates from it. An important function of this office is to maintain computerized academic record of each student and keep the parents / guardians update about the academic progress of the students.

Student support office has a student monitoring cell which maintains the academic progress and attendance of the students. This is then presented to the academic council of the institute headed by the principal of the college and head of the relevant departments. Academically outstanding students are awarded by the chairperson, while the academically weak students are counseled.

Counseling Services
Student Support Office has staff counselors who are readily available to the students for sorting out problems (personal, social and academic) which they encounter during the session.

Students exchange Program
Gandhara University is the first private university in the province that is dedicated to bring medical and dental education on par with the advanced countries. In year 2002 Gandhara Institute of Medical Sciences established a link with education centre "North West Wales NHS Trust Bangor Hospital UK" for students exchange program. Efforts are being processed to have similar exchange program between Gandhara University and Faculty of Medicine University of Sydney Australia.
